Duration: 14 Nights / 15 Days
Destination: Delhi - Jaipur - Pushkar - Bijaipur - Bundi - Ranthumbore National park - Bharatpur - Agra - Delhi
Day 1 Delhi
Colourful and chaotic, Delhi is a great introduction to India. Explore the bustling markets that sell everything from spices to puppets or get a taste of Islamic India at the impressive Qutb Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world.
Days 2-4 Jaipur
Visit the very ornate and very pink Hawa Mahal, explore the hilltop Amber Fort and visit an Animal Shelter. There's plenty of free time to visit the 300 year old observatory, museums or even take in a Hindi movie at the spectacular Raj Mandir Cinema!
Days 5-7 Pushkar
Head out into the desert for the day on our 'Ships of the Desert", camels. Back in Pushkar keep an eye out for the dreadlocked holy men called sadhus. Take a walk around the lake to see the devout worship at the holy waters, or take an early morning walk to a hilltop temple for amazing views over the town.
Days 8-9 Bijaipur
It's a journey of discovery as we pass tribal people and rural villages on our way to Bijaipur. The town's fantastic castle is a great base to explore the local villages. Jump on a bicycle for a ride through the countryside or take a dip in the castle's pool.
Day 10 Bundi
The thriving old city of Bundi is small enough to explore on foot. Absorb the timeless atmosphere in the colourful fruit market, see the intricately carved stepwells and visit the hillside palace.
Day 11 Ranthambhore National Park
A safari through one of the original Project Tiger reserves is a change to see sambar deer, wild boar, crocodiles and, if you're really lucky, the elusive Bengal tiger.
Day 12 Bharatpur
Travel the local way on a public train to Bharatpur, home of the Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary. Explore the grounds on a guided rickshaw tour and see how many of the 400 species of birds you can spot.
Day 13 Agra
Wander through the impressive Red Fort imagining how emperors once lived, and see India's most recognisable monument, the Taj Mahal. There may be an opportunity to see how handmade carpets are made.
Days 14-15 Delhi
Return to Delhi in time for a final farewell breakfast and a chance to continue exploring the city's fantastic sights.
